M itchell Funeral Home was founded in March 1951 by the late E.D. Mitchell and wife Eula Mae Mitchell. Following Mr. Mitchells death in July 1972, the funeral home was purchased in September 1973, by business partners and longtime friends Leland James & James N. Lipford, Jr., the name was then changed to James & Lipford Funeral Home. Although the partnership dissolved following Mr. Lipfords death in October 1988, the funeral home is still family operated by Dorothy Lipford Padgett, Licensed Funeral Director, Manager; Chris Sikes, Licensed Funeral Director and Tracie Sikes owners.
