Charles Ed Ivey, 94 of Graceville passed away, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Campbellton-Graceville Hospital. Funeral service will be held 11a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Thrower officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with full military U.S. Army honors, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the church 10 a.m. until time of service. in lieu of flowers family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church P.O. Mr. Ivey was born in Graceville in the Galilee Community on July 9, 1918 to the late Richard Clarence and Emma Williams Ivey. A graduate of Graceville High School Class of 1939, He was married to the love of his life Ganell Smith Ivey, for over 61 years. Mr. Ivey was a retired 1st Sargent with the U. S. Army, Veteran of World War II. As a career military family they traveled and lived across the United States before retiring in Graceville. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Ivey enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies of the backroom coffee club at Tri-county Oil and Tire. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Ganell; Survived by three sons, Richard C. Ivey(Linda), Robert L. Ivey(Marilyn) all of Dothan, Wilson Ivey(Susan), Graceville; five grandchildren Susannah McCord(Adam), Rich Ivey, Hillary Ivey, Chase Ivey, Jana Hollingsworth(Jamie); three great grandchildrn Elizabeth Webb, James Webb, Anderson McCord. Family would like to say a special "thank you" to Dr. Steve Davis, nurses and staff.
