J. Clegg Ivey, 93 of Graceville, Florida passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Ivey was born on September 30, 1918 in Graceville to the late David Willis Ivey and Martha McCrary Ivey. A World War II Veteran, Mr. Ivey retired as a U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer following 20 years of active duty, he then was a truck driver for over 28 years. He was a member of Galilee United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Galilee United Methodist Church with Revs. Sam McAliley, David Shepard and Ernie Gray officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with full military, James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Flowers accepted or those wishing can make memorials to Emerald Coast Hospice 1330 S. Blvd., Chipley, FL 32428. Family will receive friends at the church on Thursday 9 a.m. until time of service. Preceded in death by two wives Hazel Ivey, Nadine Ivey and son Johnny Ivey, three sisters Theatrice Parish, Billie Jo Adams, Opal McAliley and one brother, Carl Ivey. Survived by two sons, Charles W. Ivey of Fountain, FL, J. Clegg Ivey, Jr.(Joan), Manchester, CT; daughter Martha Suzanne Ivey; three brothers Raymond Ivey(Nell), Charles Ivey(Barbara) all of Pensacola, FL, Dick Ivey(Pat), Walton, KY; three sisters Mollie Knight, Tennille, GA, Oletha Hunt, Pensacola, Martha Bowen McKnight, Chipley; special friend Fran Hutchison; five grandchildren, one great grandchild; two step-daughters Annette Whaley(Rodney), Jeanette Cherry(Carlton), three step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren.
