James "Jack" Calloway
December 6, 1930 - November 5, 2010
James H. (Jack) Calloway of Malone passed away quietly on November 10, 2010 after a lengthy illness. He was a lifetime resident of Malone, Florida. Mr. Calloway was preceded in death by his wife Janice Mercer Calloway, and his parents Walter and Oza Calloway. Survivors include his son Keith Calloway and wife Diane, Coral Springs, Florida, Kevin Calloway, Greenwood, daughter Michelle Watkins and husband Tony of Graceville, one grandson Brad Calloway of Dayton, Ohio, two sisters Argie Garrison and husband Alva of Panama City and Audrey Dalton and husband Bob of Plano Texas and several nieces and nephews. In addition to farming Mr. Calloway retired from the State of Florida, Department of Agriculture where he worked for 27 years. Mr. Calloway was an active member of his community, serving as a member of the board of directors of the Jackson County Farm Bureau, The Jackson County Cattlemen's Association as well as a member of the Jackson County Planning Commission and the Jackson County Peanut Producers Association. Mr. Calloway was also a lifetime Member of the Free Masons and an honorary chapter farmer for the Malone Chapter of the FFA. He also served in the United States Marines. Visitation will be Sunday, November 7, 2010 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Maddox Chapel, Marianna, Florida. A graveside service will be held Monday November 8, 2010 at 10:00 AM. at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Marianna, Florida. The Reverend Ronnie Wright officiating.
