Kathleen Singletary Blount

Mrs. Kathleen Blount, 93 of Slocomb, AL, entered her Heavenly home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at her residence. Mrs. Kathleen was born in Houston County, Alabama on July 28, 1928, to the late J. Grady Singletary and Katie Estelle Baxley Singletary. A beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Kathleen retired following 32 years with Golden Peanut Corporation. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for over 55 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 65 years Shellie Blount, one daughter Charlotte Ann Vanloon and one sister Lorene Singletary. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Blount (Susan), Slocomb, AL, Stanley Blount (Melinda), Lynn Haven, FL; seven grandchildren Shelly Pickard, Stacie Phillips, Mary Yarbrough (Frankie), Ken Blount (Hayley), Jennifer Hall (Randy), Breanne Blount, Brooks Blount; twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. A Home-going service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Adams officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the church Friday, 1 p.m. until time of service.
