Minnie P. Shipes, 85 of Graceville, FL passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her residence. Ms. Minnie affectionately known as "Shipes" was born in Slocomb, AL on September 5, 1928 to the late Elbert and Callie Parker Gentry. Retired from Gold Kist Peanut, Ms. Minnie worked at the Jackson County Convalescent Center (known today as Signature Health Care of North Florida) for over 20 years. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 p.m. until time of service. Preceded in death by her husband Eddie B. Shipes, grandson James Ray "Jamie" Shipes. Survived by two sons Billy Ray Shipes(Josephine), Dothan, AL, Bobby Shipes, Graceville; sister, Mary Lou Holley, Graceville; brother Buddy Gentry(Carol), St. Cloud, FL; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. A special "Thank You" to Artelma, Mary Lou, Ben Beall and Covenant Hospice for the kindness, care and love you have showed to our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
