Nathan Kirkland, 88 of Graceville, Florida passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at his residence. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Revs. Chris Adams, Don Haddan and Chester Padgett officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home directing. Flowers accepted or those wishing can make memorials to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 2376 H. Grady Garner Road Slocomb, AL 36375. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Mr. Nathan was born in Houston County, Alabama on May 14, 1926 to the late Claude Lee and Rosie Sharon Baxley Kirkland. Mr. Nathan a U. S. Army Veteran, retired from West Florida Electric Cooperative as a heavy truck operator following 26 years. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for over 50 years, also serving as a Sunday School Teacher and Training Union Director over the years. Preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Katreeane Kirkland; four children George Kirkland, Kathy Bruner and husband James, James Kirkland and wife Tami, Roy Kirkland and wife Lois; sister Carolyn Spears; sister-in-laws Christine Kirkland Phillips, Sarah Kirkland Habbard; eight grandchildren Jason Kirkland(Candace), Tate Bruner(Heather), Jeremy Kirkland, Natasha Hendrix(Owen), Jami Bryant(Bubba), Kori Cailleteau(Paul), Joey Lewis, Chantry Kirkland; twelve great grandchildren Justin, Maci, Kaylyn, Clay, Kadie, Kason, Lil James, Layla, Jacob, Cooper, Jarrod, Jacob; one great great grandson Carson; several nieces and nephews.
