Nell Jean Cassady, 93 of Graceville passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the home of her caretaker. Ms. Nell Jean was born in Hartford, AL on July 5, 1923 to the late Robert Lee Collins and Sallie Pearl Childs Collins. A graduate of Geneva County High School, Ms. Nell Jean worked as a cashier at Lil Market here in Graceville, later working and then retiring as a Member Service Clerk with REA, known today as West Florida Electric Co-op. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graceville where she was active in the Dorcas Sunday School Class and Twix & Tweens. She was a past member of the Graceville Garden Club Camillia Circle, Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary and an avid domino player. Celebration of her life will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2016 at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Girton and Bro. Chester Padgett officiating. Burial will be at Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 p.m. until time of service. She was predeceased in 2001 by her beloved husband Angus Cassady. She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Gail Hagler (Don), Greg Hagler, Janie Casey (Dan), Karen Ewald (Tom), loving care takers, Teresa and Steve Girton, Sylvia Skinner, and several other relatives and friends. A special "thank-you" to Emerald Coast Hospice nurses and staff.
