Patricia "Pat" Barfield

December 3, 1936 - January 7, 2015

Patricia "Pat" Clark Barfield, 78 of Graceville, FL passed away, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at her residence following an extended illness. Pat was born in Monticello, Florida on December 3, 1936 to the late Judson Douglas Clark and Beulah Weeks Clark. A 1954 graduate of Port St. Joe High School, Pat was also a graduate of Chipola Jr College and Florida State University receiving a BS in Education. She spent the next 35 years, on and off, teaching in area schools in Wausau, Graceville, Alford and Marianna as well as Emmanuel Christian School in Dothan, Alabama. Ms. Pat was a gifted musician who played the piano and sang with her husband Gene, other family members and local gospel groups, such as the Gospelaires. She was a member of Damascus Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at Damascus Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Taylor, Bro. Johnny Jones and Bro. Matt Gluck officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Predeceased by Gene Barfield, her beloved husband of 58 years on September 11, 2013 She is survived by son Olen Barfield(Gloria), Cottondale; daughter Starla Dolihite(Brian), Navarre, FL; nine grandchildren Jenny, Jill, Jana, Judson, Joni, Julie, Ashley, Jacob, Abigail; three great grandchildren Alexandria, Ian, Aries; five sisters Joy Smith(Dale), Catherine Kelley(Randall), Carolyn Roney(Olen), Ruth Sauls(Tommy), Nellie Schofield, two brothers-in-law Lloyd Barfield, Clyde Barfield; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Greer(Jim), Midge Barfield, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
