Rev. Jerome Paul "Jerry" Leisz, 70, of Vernon died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the University of Birmingham Medical in Birmingham, Alabama. A native of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, Rev. Leisz retired from the US Air Force and had resided in Vernon for the past 33 years where he pastored several church in the Vernon, Bonifay, Lynn Haven area such as Noma Assembly of God and New Bethany Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Ione LaMere Leisz. Survivors include his wife, Sister Mae Leisz of Vernon; one daughter, Mary Jo Carter and husband DeWayne of Chipley; two grandchildren, Christopher and Shelley Arthur; two brothers, Laurent Leese of New York and Allen Leisz of Wisconsin; three sisters, Arlene Nelson and husband Jerry of Minn.; Joann Sollman and husband Eugene and Mary Kay Ramnarine all of Wisconsin. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Friday, April 1, 2011 at Noma Assembly of God Church with Rev. Preston Haddock and Rev. Bobby Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at New Bethany Assembly of God Cemetery in Vernon with military honors. James & Lipford Funeral Home of Graceville directing. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Noma Assembly of God Church. "
