“R.J.” Rubin Jackson Hendrix, 83, of Graceville, passed away Thursday, January 20, 2022, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. R. J. was born in Slocomb, AL on June 11, 1938, to the late A.L. Hendrix and Bessie Hilson Hendrix. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Mr. R.J. began his work career with Henry Arnold Ford and then to Jones Motor Company which then became Tommy Thomas Chevrolet. After the closure of the Chevrolet Company, he went to work with Stone Container Forest Products until his retirement. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha “Jo” Hendrix, daughter Pam Sims and brother William H. Hendrix. He is survived by one daughter Debra Wilson (Huie), four grandchildren Jeremy Wilson (Kym), Jodi Faircloth (Byron), Christopher Rodriguez, Jacob Rodriguez; five great grandchildren Kolton, Tucker, Tate, Ainslee, Paislee; one niece Rhonda Parrot and one nephew Greg Hendrix. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Bro. Byron Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow in Bethany cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, 1 p.m. until time of service.
